Bic Bargain!
Today I combined two $3 off Bic coupons from the Sunday paper with a Buy One, Get One 50% Off sale going on through Saturday at CVS. I paid 40 cents (just the sales tax) for two packs of Bic razors! That’s 2 cents per razor!! 🙂 These coupons will probably add up to very cheap deals on Bic at other stores, also, but that’s the one I had time to go to and it worked well.
Also, if you need anything that isn’t on sale this week, my Sunday paper had a circular with a 20% off coupon that is also good through Saturday. I’m not sure if that’s a local CVS circular or if it is nationwide. You can combine this with store coupons and manufacturer’s coupons, so that can add up to a good deal. I used it on nursing pads, wipes, diapers and Gillette products for my hubby. He will only use Gillette razors and shave gel. (Are all men stuck on certain brands???) They have a deal this week where you spend $30 and get $10 Extra Care Bucks back. I had several coupons to combine with it, including a BOGO, so it worked out to some super savings on expensive products. 🙂
What would you use the 20% off coupon for? 🙂 Are you or a family member stuck on one particular type or brand of a product, and won’t use anything else regardless of price?

What a fabulous deal! Razors are super expensive! I think you should treat yourself to something you might not ordinarily buy with the 20% coupon. My husband insists on getting Mach 3 razors and Barbasol shaving cream, luckily the shaving cream is cheap! Thanks for sharing the great deals!

Yes, they are! I’m not big on treating myself anymore. Occasionally I will, but mostly I just get the things I need or things for the fmaily. Barbasol is definitely cheap compared to the Gillette stuff! My husband used to get annoyed if I bought his things ahead, but now he understands how much money we save by my doing so. I don’t “stockpile”, but I keep enough that he never runs out. 🙂

I am NOT stuck to a particular brand at all! Just a good value! I’m a new mom and fairly new wife, and I appreciate your posts! Would you mind if I share your site with some others who are just beginning? Also, where was this BOGO coupon????

I’m not stuck to a particular brand, either. I get all of my own personal products for pennies on the dollar. This particular BOGO was for the shave gels, and I believe it was in the P&G brand saver from this week or the week before. I clipped coupons from the past two weeks before I headed out. I tried to find it online for you, but didn’t see it. The $2 off Gillette coupons can be found at http://coupons.com, though.

Thanks! 🙂 The psychology for me is just my lifelong personality and dedication to being frugal and a good steward of what I have. I was raised to get the most from what I have. Why pay $10 a pack for diapers when I could pay $5 or less with very little effort and be able to afford other things my munchkins may need? I don’t advocate living your life to coupon or obsessing over saving every penny you have. Doing that is what I consider extreme, and it takes away from the things that are truly important in life, like your family & friends & having time to enjoy everything that is wonderful. 🙂 Just spending a little time on these things consistently can save so much and improve your quality of life when you don’t have unlimited resources to blow.
