Penny Pinching Peach

For the semi crunchy, homeschool friendly and totally frugal!

About Me

843C2B42-5DD2-48A7-BDEA-8A499FBE0E8A

I’m Keisha, a bonafide Georgia peach who is known for pinching a penny until it hollers…and then pinching it again!

I was raised by a frugal country woman who taught me all about couponing, thrift stores and using common sense to save more cents. We are from a family who clipped coupons and tried to stretch a dollar long before anyone ever imagined it would become the thing for cool kids to do. It’s just a way of life to me. If you were to ask those who know me, most of them would tell you that I’m the one to go to about saving money and finding the best bargain out there. It’s as natural as breathing to me, and oodles of fun to do!

I don’t have the time or patience to be an “extreme couponer”.

While I enjoy chasing down a good deal as much as the next girl, I incorporate it into my lifestyle instead of making my life revolve around couponing or getting the most out of my money. I save bakoodles of money by shopping & saving smarter without spending thirty hours a week clipping coupons, scouring ads and shopping when I could be enjoying my family or working on other things. This blog is to help others live frugally without making it an obsession, and enjoy life more while spending less!

I also believe in working hard to try to provide more pennies to stretch our budget! I am proud to be an affiliate with Barefut Essential Oils With Keisha , where you can get pure quality essential oils, balms, herbal teas, diffusers & more at bargain prices,  and Skin By Nature With Keisha , a place where you get all natural, organic, soothing skin care products at shockingly affordable prices (and every product I have tried passes my super sensitive skin test) and 10 free nail polish strips I promote with my little girls at Mommy and Me Nails With Keisha and Daughters

Just sit down, relax, pour yourself a frosty glass of our Southern sweet tea and enjoy our peachy penny pinching corner of the web! For even more fun, join us in my Facebook group!!

I am a homeschool graduate, the proud wife of a hard working firefighter/paramedic, and we are the pleased homeschooling parents of three beautiful kiddos.

When we were first married, my husband used to laugh at my penny pinching ways. Guess who is laughing now? Me, while he brags to his friends about how much money his wife saves them when they start complaining about how much their significant others like to blow all their dough! 😉

Our oldest little girl is already following in my footsteps of frugality. She firmly believes that coupons are what buys our groceries, and I couldn’t be more pleased! Our little man is just beginning to learn the art of bring frugal. Our baby girl doesn’t even know what a bargain is yet, bless her little heart.

I love being able to save money on so many things so that we can afford a better lifestyle for our little ones.

  1. I’m right there with you! And I don’t NEED to spend my life hunting deals and coupons. If I can get what we need and stay in budget, I’m satisfied. Funny that your daughter feels that way about coupons. Mine told her daddy “We don’t have a coupon and it’s not on sale so you cannot have that, sir!” when they did groceries for me last….

    • That is funny! I definitely don’t come out ahead if my husband goes grocery shopping for or with me. I was on bedrest while pregnant with our 9 month old, and unable to leave the couch much for a few months after, due to extreme complications. Our grocery bill was wayyyyy higher than when I’m mobile, even though I’d send a few coupons with him every time. He’s just not wired for savings. My daughter will totally do what yours did to your husband when she’s a little older. She’s a bossy little missy, and loves those coupons & sales already. 🙂

  2. I’m happy to have found your blog! I love being thrifty as well! We are a family of 5 living on a grocery budget of $350. I don’t use coupons…at least not in an extreme way! I just buy whatever is on sale on cook cheap meals! I also shop at thrift shops and rummage sales for most of our clothes and have saved so much money for our family that way! Looking forward to reading more of your blog!

    • It takes too much time for the typical mommy to do extreme couponing, I think, even when we are working hard to stay within a tight budget. Thrift stores and online yard sales are my favorite ways to keep our family clothed, especially the children. I’m glad you enjoyed what you’ve seen of my blog!

  5. I went overboard when I first started couponing, and I drove my kids crazy. I’m with you … frugal living is great, but we don’t want to be mastered by the next good deal. So glad you came by to visit my blog through Atlanta Mom of Three’s blog party!

    • My husband just didn’t get it at first, although I was never extreme because it’s just a lifelong thing I’ve always done. Now, he’s totally on board. He even brings me the double version of the Sunday papers. LOL
